ZPRAA 2026
The ZPRAA 2026 emblem is more than a design, it is a visual identity for the peoples of Zamboanga Peninsula. Every shape and color reflects a story rooted in the cultural richness and athletic spirit of Region IX.
At its core is a striking letter Z, standing for the Zamboanga Peninsula and its nine dynamic Schools Divisions. Its lower form echoes the silhouette of a sakayan, paying tribute to Isabela City’s seafaring heritage. This gesture honors a host city shaped by tides, travel, and the enduring connection of island communities.
Surrounding the Z is a nine-point woven star, each point representing one participating division and its distinctive team color: Dapitan City, Dipolog City, Isabela City, Pagadian City, Sulu, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay.
The emblem rests on a textured field inspired by Yakan tennun, Sama teppo, and Subanen memeni weaving traditions. The main icon draws from the Yakan taming worn in the Tumahik, a warrior dance characterized by agile strikes, low stances, and swift turns. These movements express bravery, discipline, and readiness --qualities mirrored in every ZPRAA athlete who competes with resolve and dignity.
A central visual element is the triangle, a shape prominent in the textiles across the Peninsula. Culturally, it evokes strength, harmony, and continuity; in sports, it reflects the pillars of athletic excellence: teamwork, discipline, and mastery.
The color palette honors Isabela City: Blue, representing the waters that link the islands and cultures of Basilan. Green, symbolizing the lush highlands, rich ecosystems, and the enduring vitality of its communities.
All these elements come together to form an emblem that truly celebrates unity through diversity --a symbol of a region moving as one, onward and forward.
